The Bathrooms of Madison County
is 'a love story in seven short Web pages'; a brief but engaging photo-essay for the Web by Allen Bukoff and Janice Putman. The story documents a one day road trip through Madison County, Iowa, USA -- setting for the book, 1992, and movie, 1995, The Bridges of Madison County.

The Bathrooms Web site gives us a glimpse into some of the lesser known sites of the county, but more importantly, it provides a good introduction to creative thinking and Fluxus theory.

"We drove back into town and parked near this gas station. I thought I'd better hit the restroom before the movie."

"The bathrooms were on the second floor. A long flight of stairs. A heavy oak door. High ceilings. Janice said they were clean and roomy."
Allen Bukoff, Ph.D.,
is a Social Psychologist with a background in advertising and an expertise in facilitating creative thinking. He has presented workshops in creative planning and strategy development for Fortune 500 clients throughout the world, and teaches Psychology of Advertising at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, USA.

Allen maintains a Web site called Creative Aerobics. Much of the information at this site is directly related to creative advertising, but there is plenty of value for anyone interested by creative thinking -- the creativity techniques published here can be applied to any situation. If you're in need of a creatvity hit, then this Web site should be near the top of your browser bookmarks.

"Fluxus is the wry, post-Dada art movement that flourished in New York and Germany in the 1950s and 60s, and influences many contemporary artists. The rest you have to figure out yourself."
    -fluxus online

Allen co-founded and manages FLUXLIST, an international email discussion group devoted to the Fluxus art movement, and maintains the Fluxus Bulletin Board, a bulletin board of Fluxus events worldwide.

His Web site The Fluxus Indian Museum has links to these services. Here, too, you can find more information about the Fluxus art movement with links to Fluxus sites elsewhere on the Web. The museum itself is a highly entertaining and enjoyable work of creative Fluxism -- imaginative, humorous, fun to visit. Plan on spending some time. And enjoy!
